ABSTRACT

The purpose of this research was to develop a catalogue of existing microelectronics fabrication facility building codes and related standards into a library for use by industrial professionals. To be as effective and efficient as possible, the information would be web-based for ease of access and for dissemination of the data.
A unique aspect of the Codes and Standards resource is the environmental, safety, and Health (ESH) application for semiconductor facility design and construction. Links to industry resource websites, building code websites and standards development organizations, in addition to ESH topics, are also available.
Designed to easily guide the semiconductor professional through the various codes, standards, and specifications that have a direct impact on a microelectronic fabrication facility, the Codes and Standards Resource is a tool that can assist in the transfer of knowledge to new entrants in the semiconductor industry. In order for the Codes and Standards Resource to achieve its goals, it is necessary for the industry to ensure that it receives direct implementation in day-to-day activities through the technology transfer process.
